great post. I totally understand the reaction you had. Every time I go to Ikea my life suddenly feels incomplete. I try to limit my visits there. although, when I had to move across country and had NO furniture, I was able to furnish my living room and dining room for $700! So I guess its a love/hate relationship:-)
You know that strange overwhealming feeling that you were struggling with? It's called "nesting"... I hear that it happens to expecting ladies! LOL Great post. I really enjoyed the way you shared your angst with your shabby-chic decor. I get flashes of that every so often too. I have to back slowly away from the Ikea catalogue if I happen across one!
Ikea is a little scary I think... Anyway, I can totally relate to your story. I used to hardly buy anything unless I really needed it but now I'm caught in a consumerism web! Love the blog, it's a great idea Ciao
